The earthquake occurred 123 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 46.8 km.
The governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, stated that the earthquakes were felt at 4-6 points in the regional capital. A tsunami threat has been announced:
"Be especially careful when visiting Khalaktyrsky beach and other areas with a tsunami threat".
