At today's meeting, deputies adopted a draft resolution on the self-dissolution of the VII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh (parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Modern.az reports that the parliament's press service released information about this.
Deputy Ulan Primov stated that this initiative is related to changes in electoral legislation.
"There is a very short time difference between presidential and parliamentary elections. Therefore, with the aim of strengthening the political system and stability in the country, the initiative group proposed to the parliament to voluntarily suspend its powers."
84 of the 89 deputies who participated in the vote supported this decision.
