Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair could become the head of the transitional administration in the Gaza Strip.
Modern.az reports that the publication "The Economist" writes about this.
It is noted that Blair is already working on a post-war governance plan and for this purpose has repeatedly visited the region since the conflict began.
According to the information, the first goal of the newly established administration will be to obtain a mandate from the UN and perform the function of a “supreme political and legal p” in Gaza for a period of five years.
After obtaining the mandate, Tony Blair will form a seven-member council and create a secretariat with up to 25 staff members. The financing of the administration will fall to the Arab states.
The publication notes that Blair's candidacy is supported by some leaders of the Persian Gulf countries and Jared Kushner, son-in-law and former advisor to US President Donald Trump.
It should be recalled that at a closed meeting held at the White House at the end of August, Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, and Tony Blair discussed the resolution of the conflict in Gaza and the post-war governance of the region.
