France's Prime Minister Sebastian Lecornu, who resigned today, announced the reason for his resignation.
Modern.az reports that, according to France 24, Lecornu stated that the reason for his resignation was the non-fulfillment of the conditions for him to remain in office.
"The conditions for me to fulfill my duties as Prime Minister were not met," Lecornu stated. The ex-Prime Minister condemned the "partisan appetites" of the factions he claimed forced him to resign.
Lecornu accused political parties of intransigence:
“I was ready to compromise, but each political party wanted the other to fully accept its program.”
He indirectly criticized Interior Minister Bruno Retaillon and, without naming them, the Republican party.
