The meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky did not go as the Ukrainian president expected.
Modern.az reports that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this.
"This visit is not as Zelensky wanted", - the chancellor emphasized.
He noted that the meeting held in Washington between the two heads of state demonstrated how much Ukraine needs the help of the European Union.
According to the German Chancellor, Europe must help Ukraine, because this is the only way to stop the fighting. Germany will try to support the Ukrainian side “financially, politically, and, of course, militarily”, - Friedrich Merz stated.
Donald Trump and Zelensky met in Washington on October 17. The meeting lasted more than two hours.
