Iran's judicial system has sentenced former MP Mostafa Kavakebian and current MP Abolfazl Zohrevand to imprisonment for their comments.
Modern.az reports on this, citing the "Azad Iran" "Telegram" channel.
It is reported that Zohrevand, a member of the Parliament's National Security Commission, was sentenced to 3 months and 1 day in prison on charges of "speaking against national security" and received a 3-year suspended sentence.
His media activities, interviews, and publishing articles have been banned for a period of two years.
The reason for the sentence was Zohrevand's statements regarding the 12-day war during an online conversation.
Former MP Kavakebian also was deprived of liberty for 14 months, and the execution of the sentence was postponed for four years.
