The declared ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has been violated again.
According to Modern.az, the Israel Defense Forces today bombed several targets belonging to Hamas.
The airstrikes by the air force were mainly directed at facilities located in the central part of the strip, in the Az-Zawayda and Al-Bureij refugee camps.
According to reports, heavy artillery fire was also opened in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis. Casualties are reported.
The Israeli army has warned Gaza residents again that Hamas's military infrastructure will continue to be targeted.
Avichay Adraee, the official Arabic-language spokesperson for the Israeli army, stated that as a result of Hamas's terror attack this morning and its repeated violations of the ceasefire regime, the Israel Defense Forces will deliver powerful strikes against Hamas fighters and their infrastructure.
The army asked residents not to leave the safe zone “west of the yellow line.” It was stated that “areas marked in red are part of the combat zone, and remaining there poses a vital threat.”
According to the "Axios" portal, Israeli authorities had previously informed the US administration about the planned operation in southern Gaza.
This information was transmitted through the US command center overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire. The source stated that Israel “did not seek permission for retaliatory strikes against Hamas.”
Earlier, it was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had instructed the army's high command to take “decisive measures against terror targets.” A statement released by the Prime Minister's office indicated that these steps are being taken in response to Hamas's violation of the ceasefire.
It is noted that on October 19, Hamas forces fired an anti-tank missile and opened artillery fire against Israeli soldiers in the Rafah area.
In response, the Israeli army targeted tunnels in the area and military structures used by Hamas.
The Palestinian movement stated that it had no connection to the incident in Rafah and had not violated the ceasefire.
It should be recalled that the ceasefire agreement was reached a few days ago through US mediation.
