Today, I can say with a clear conscience: divine justice has finally begun to take its course. I pray to Almighty God to grant the families of Imam Musa Sadr and his two advisors a piece of truth that will bring some peace to their hearts after years of suffering. Truth, no matter how much time passes, is never forgotten.
Modern.az reports that Hannibal Gaddafi, son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, wrote this on his social media account while commenting on the Lebanese court's decision to release him after 10 years of imprisonment.
Hannibal Gaddafi was abducted from Syria, where he had received political asylum in 2015, and handed over to Lebanon. He is accused of concealing information regarding the fate of Shia cleric Imam Musa Sadr, who disappeared in Libya in 1978. According to lawyer Inas Harrak, no facts proving the guilt of 50-year-old Hannibal Gaddafi, who has been held in prison for 10 years, have been presented.
Hannibal Gaddafi controlled the country's oil exports during his father's rule. After Muammar Gaddafi's overthrow and death in 2011, he left the conflict zone and sought refuge in Algeria, and later in Syria.
It should be noted that Imam Musa Sadr was invited to Tripoli in August 1978 to attend the anniversary events of the Libyan revolution. The cleric, who was preparing for a visit to the Vatican to meet with the Pope, disappeared along with his two advisors after a meeting with Muammar Gaddafi.
