Europe must be prepared for a possible war with Russia, both morally and technically.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson in an interview with the German publication RND.
The minister stated that a "change in mentality" is important: European countries must switch to a “war mode” to decisively repel threats, protect security, and maintain peace. Jonson added that Russia regularly tests Europe's unity and resolve, but "Putin will not succeed in this".
It was noted in the interview that approximately 90 percent of the population in Sweden supports strengthening the defense course, increasing military spending, and continuing aid to Ukraine. "Proximity to Russia has taught us one thing: peace is not a gift; it must be protected every day", , Jonson emphasized.
He also recommended that allies increase arms supplies to Ukraine and tighten sanctions against Russia.
