A problem has occurred in the world's famous online services.
According to Modern.az, a large-scale technical malfunction has been observed on dozens of internet platforms, including “Canva”, “Snapchat”, “Zoom”, and “Duolingo”.
The difficulties in accessing services are related to a malfunction that occurred on the “Amazon Web Services” (AWS) cloud platform.
“Oakla”, the owner of the “Downdetector” platform which monitors internet outages, stated that more than 4 million outage notifications have been received since this morning. Normally, this figure averages 1.8 million per day.
In the United Kingdom alone, more than 400,000 complaints were registered within the first two hours of the malfunction.
The problem affected not only social networks and educational platforms but also some banking applications.
"Amazon" confirmed in its statement that the problem occurred in the US-EAST-1 (Eastern US region) server center. The company stated that the malfunction was caused by a technical error related to DNS (Domain Name System) in the "DynamoDB API" system.
"Amazon Web Services" (AWS) is the cloud computing service division of technology giant "Amazon". Millions of websites and mobile applications worldwide operate on AWS servers.
This means that numerous applications running on users' phones and computers are actually managed from "Amazon"'s data centers.
According to "Downdetector", the list of platforms affected by the outage is quite long. Among them
applications such as “Snapchat”, “Zoom”, “Roblox”, “Canva”, “Duolingo”, “Wordle”, “Signal”, “Coinbase”, “Slack”, “IMDB”, “Epic Games”, “PlayStation Network”, “Fortnite”, “Clash Royale”, “PokemonGo”, “My Fitness Pal”, “Smartsheet”, “Peloton” and “Life360” are included.
Amazon has not yet specified a concrete time for the full resolution of the problem, but it is reported that service is gradually being restored on some platforms.
