Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke about the reason why some European countries are calling for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.

“French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have for some time now stopped talking about the necessity of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia and have started calling for an immediate ceasefire.
On the other hand, Macron stated that the ceasefire should take place without any preconditions and that no country would be able to restrict arms supplies to the Kyiv regime,” - the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
“In other words, as they say, the hat caught fire, it immediately became clear why this ceasefire is needed,” - Lavrov emphasized.
