US President Donald Trump has agreed to supply “Patriot” anti-aircraft missile systems (AAMS) to Ukraine.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Andrey Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration, in an interview with “RBK-Ukraine”.
According to Yermak, Trump's decision signifies full support for Ukraine's air defense systems.
Although he did not disclose all the details of the negotiations, he noted that modern systems like “Patriot” are considered “most effective,” but there is “high demand” for this equipment worldwide.
“Figuratively speaking, the queue is long, but we are trying to get as close to the window as possible. The main thing is that Trump gave the "green light," after which the matter is mainly technical in nature,” Yermak emphasized.
The Ukrainian official added that the process of acquiring weapons from the US is actively ongoing within the framework of the PURL arms supply program. 17 countries, including Brussels, have already joined the program.
Yermak also noted that public statements by US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset also influenced the adoption of this decision. According to him, the topic of “Tomahawk” missiles has not been removed from the agenda, and “dialogue in this direction continues”.
