In 2023–2024, Armenia signed arms contracts with France worth over 274.5 million euros.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in the report submitted to the parliament by the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

The document notes that Armenia approached France with the aim of diversifying cooperation in the defense sector and, within this framework, signed new agreements to strengthen its military capabilities.

“The export of new equipment, the conduct of military training, and joint operations are entirely defensive in nature. The establishment of a French defense mission in Yerevan in 2023 allows for closer ties between the parties and the identification of the most optimal forms of cooperation,” the report states.

France did not supply weapons to Armenia until 2022, but numerous contracts for the armament of ground forces were signed in 2023–2024. In addition, several joint projects on Armenia's defense industry are also being discussed.

The military partnership between France and Armenia also includes a training program for combat readiness in mountainous areas.

The report also notes that France has provided the Armenian army with “Caesar” self-propelled howitzers, 15 anti-tank missiles, and their associated launch systems.
