Thousands of people in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, have protested against the new labor laws proposed by the government of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.

Modern.az reports that Portuguese media has disseminated information about this.

According to the information, the protest organized by CGTP, the country's largest trade union organization, was held under the slogan “Everyone to Lisbon.” The protesters consisted of both public and private sector employees.

The reason for the protests is the amendments to the Labor Code approved by the government in September 2025.

Participants in the protest believe that the new rules violate workers' rights and increase exploitation. The changes aim to facilitate employee dismissals, ease outsourcing restrictions, and create “individual time banks.” This system allows employees to work two additional hours per day.
