In the Russia–Ukraine war, attention has once again turned to Ankara regarding peace prospects.

According to Modern.az, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will pay an official visit to Turkey today and will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The main issue on the parties' agenda will be the resumption of the peace talks held in Istanbul.

According to Burhanettin Duran, head of Turkey's Directorate of Communications, Zelenskyy and Erdoğan will meet face-to-face for the third time this year. The talks will be held at the Presidential Administration complex.

The main topic of the meeting will be possible steps towards ending the Russia–Ukraine war on the basis of a more just and lasting peace. Ankara has tried to bring both sides to the dialogue table in recent years, and the Istanbul talks had created real diplomatic progress in the early months of the war.

This time, too, the leaders will discuss steps that can be taken to restart those discussions. At the same time, the issue of the mutual return of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine will also be on the agenda.

During the meeting, Erdoğan and Zelenskyy will review the Turkey–Ukraine strategic partnership across all fields, and will discuss plans to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
