Azerbaijan has become the next country to refuse to send a military contingent to Gaza within the framework of international stabilization forces.
Modern.az reports that Israel's newspaper “Israel Hayom” wrote about this.
Let us recall that on November 17, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution supporting Trump's plan. Although US officials expected Azerbaijan to join this mission, Baku will not send Azerbaijani soldiers to Gaza without a full ceasefire being ensured. However, a ceasefire is almost not ensured in Gaza.
According to “Israel Hayom”, since the resolution, no country has yet announced its readiness to send a contingent to Gaza. Azerbaijan also openly declared to its partners a few weeks ago that it cannot risk the lives of its soldiers.
However, it was stated at the security consultation held in Israel that Hamas is not surrendering its weapons; on the contrary, it is rearming by using the ceasefire period. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conveyed to the US the demand that reconstruction work should not be carried out in Gaza without full demilitarization being ensured.
