A delegation consisting of representatives from the AKP, MHP, and DEM parties of the Turkish parliament met with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan today on İmralı Island.
Modern.az reports that this information was released by the press service of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
The official statement indicated that Öcalan's “detailed statements were taken” and the results of the meeting were assessed as “beneficial in terms of social integration, strengthening brotherhood, and the positive development of the regional perspective”.
According to the TBMM's information, the discussions primarily focused on Öcalan's: “call for peace and a democratic society” made on February 27, discussions regarding the dissolution of the PKK and its abandonment of arms, and the implementation of the March 10 agreement in Syria. A series of questions were addressed to Öcalan regarding these topics, and the answers were recorded.
