Taalaybek Masadykov, currently serving as Deputy Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), will become the new head of the organization starting January 1, 2026.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov.
According to him, the leaders of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Tajikistan will participate in the CSTO summit to be held in Bishkek on Thursday. Armenia will not participate in the meeting this time either.
Ushakov told journalists that CSTO Secretary-General Tasymagambetov will participate in the session; he will leave this post starting January 1.
Y. Ushakov added that Masadykov, a representative of Kyrgyzstan and currently serving as Deputy Secretary-General of the CSTO, will replace Tasymagambetov".
