Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has sent a clear message to Kurdish armed groups in Syria.
According to Modern.az, he stated in an interview with "TRT World" television channel that the conviction that the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) are deliberately prolonging the process is strengthening, and this situation does not satisfy Ankara.
According to the minister, Turkey does not intend to allow any terrorist elements in Syria to hinder the country's reconstruction process. Fidan noted that the integration of the SDF, which is linked to the PKK/YPG, into Syrian state structures is proceeding very slowly, and this causes concern. In his opinion, the SDF is trying to buy time and is hoping for possible new regional crises.
Hakan Fidan stated that the vast majority of opposition armed groups in Syria have already come under the command of the Syrian Ministry of Defense, but the SDF has remained outside this process. The Turkish side does not want to resort to military methods again, but it openly declares that the continuation of this situation is unacceptable.
The minister emphasized that the agreement dated March 10 must be implemented without delay and without modification. According to him, this agreement is an important step for ensuring Syria's national unity, and the SDF must also understand that patience is running out. Fidan finally stated that he hopes it is possible to achieve the goal with the right approach and cooperation.
