In Russia's Sverdlovsk region, the court extended the detention period of three Azerbaijanis accused in murder cases from previous years in Yekaterinburg.
Modern.az reports that this information was disseminated by the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
Azer Abbasov, Shahin Lalayev, and Ahliman Ganjiyev are being prosecuted under Part 3 of Article 33 and clauses “z” and “j” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – on charges of murder committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, contract murder, and attempted contract murder.
According to the court's decision, the pre-trial detention measure chosen for them has been extended until March 29, 2026. The decision has not yet entered into legal force, and the parties have the right to appeal it within three days.
