Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov may be arrested in absentia in Russia.
Modern.az reports that a motion has been filed in Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court to select a pre-trial detention measure against Kasparov.
Garry Kasparov has been charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (public calls for terrorism, public justification of terrorism, or its propaganda using mass media, electronic or telecommunication networks).
According to this article, a person found guilty may face a maximum sentence of up to seven years of imprisonment.
