Olympic champion in hammer throw, Ukrainian track and field athlete and coach Anatoli Bondarchuk has died at the age of 84.
Modern.az reports that he lived in Canada.
Bondarchuk won at the Munich Olympics with an Olympic record of 75.50 meters. He had previously set two world records in 1969 - 74.68 meters and 75.48 meters.
Anatoli Bondarchuk won a bronze medal at the 1976 Montreal Games. He was also the 1969 European champion, a bronze medalist at the 1971 European Championships, and a four-time USSR champion (1969, 1970, 1972, 1973).
