A high-ranking police officer has been killed in Sistan and Baluchestan province, located in southeastern Iran.
Modern.az reports that Iranian media has disseminated information about this.
Early in the morning, an officer was shot dead by "unknown armed assailants."
The deceased has been identified as Mahmoud Haqiqat.
According to media reports, members of the separatist armed group "Jaish al-Adl" opened fire on his car. Several publications note that he held the rank of lieutenant as the city's deputy police chief.
The circumstances of the murder have not been disclosed.
