Ukraine is discussing security guarantees with its partners on land, in the air, and at sea. The issue of deploying a “nuclear umbrella” over Ukraine is not on the agenda.
According to Modern.az, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in a declaration to journalists.
He noted that during the discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine, there was no talk of deploying a nuclear shield from Great Britain and France. Instead, guarantees to be provided on land, at sea, and in the air were discussed with partners and the United States.
“Air defense is a priority direction; at the same time, issues of strengthening our army and additional funding for personnel are being discussed. The full manning of our brigades is very important for us. We are also talking about some licenses necessary for joint production,” the Ukrainian President emphasized.
It should be recalled that on January 6, a meeting was held in Paris between Ukraine, the United States, and countries included in the “Coalition of the Willing.” The parties affirmed unity on the issue of lasting peace and agreed on future support for Kyiv.
During the meeting, Ukraine, France, and Great Britain also signed a declaration on the establishment of a joint coordination group.
Security-related documents are planned to be further refined at the leaders' level. The main priorities are security guarantees and Ukraine's post-war recovery. Only after this are broader consultations with the participation of the United States envisioned.
