The US should not use Russia or China as an excuse to justify its private interests in the Arctic.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that these words were spoken by Mao Ning, the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She emphasized that the Arctic is a sensitive region that touches upon the common interests of the international community:
"China's activities in the Arctic serve to strengthen peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region, and are also fully consistent with the norms of international law".
It should be recalled that Donald Trump had previously stated that if Greenland were not under Washington's control, Russia or China would appear there.
