According to Georgia's state budget, by the end of 2026, the country's foreign state debt will amount to 38.8 billion lari, and a significant portion of this debt will be paid to international banks.

Modern.az reports that, according to the state budget, 19,088.9 million lari of Georgia's 38,815 million lari debt is debt to be paid to banks.

The largest debts are to the Asian Development Bank (7,075.9 million lari) and the World Bank (6,399 million lari). The European Investment Bank ranks third in terms of debt with 3,379.8 million lari.
In addition to debts to international banks, Georgia also owes 1,286.2 million lari to seven countries. The largest amounts are debts to France (2,293 million) and Germany (1,617.5 million).

Among Georgia's creditors are also Austria, Japan, Kuwait, Turkmenistan, and the USA.

The country also has a 1,386.2 million lari Eurobond debt, which is planned to be re-issued in 2026.

Georgia's foreign debt is calculated at an exchange rate of 2.7 lari/1 dollar.
