In the city of Novokuznetsk, Russia, a maternity hospital has been closed.
Modern.az reports, citing Telegram channels, that 9 infants died there during the New Year holidays. The Investigative Committee is conducting investigations regarding the incident.
The Investigative Committee for Kemerovo Oblast is conducting a pre-investigation check regarding information about the negligence of maternity hospital officials (Article 293 of the Criminal Code). The institution is also being investigated by Rospotrebnadzor and the Kuzbass Ministry of Health.
NGS42 notes that there are only two maternity hospitals in Novokuznetsk, and currently, for a city with a population of 500,000, only one institution and a perinatal center remain.
