US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham commented on US President Donald Trump's post promising aid to Iranian protesters.

Modern.az reports that Graham compared Trump to former President Barack Obama, calling him “Reagan plus” on national security issues.

According to the senator, the greatest threat to order in the world is the religiously fanatical regime led by Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Graham noted that this regime kills its own people, supports international terrorism, and “has the blood of American citizens on its hands”.

Graham stated that a “deadly blow” to the Iranian regime would be a combination of the patriotic courage of the protesters and President Trump's decisive actions. According to him, protesters take to the streets unarmed, risking their lives, and believe that Trump supports them. The senator emphasized that a large-scale combination of military, cyber, and psychological pressures should be applied without the use of ground troops.

Lindsey Graham further noted that he shared a video on social media regarding individuals killed during the Iranian protests and that he received the material from exiled Iranian Prince Reza Pahlavi and his team. The senator stated that these people “sacrificed their lives for freedom” and claimed that the Iranian leadership had “crossed all red lines”.

Graham added that the tariffs imposed on Iranian oil were the right step, and now it is time for Washington to clearly show the Iranian people, as well as official Tehran, that the US stands with the protesters.
