US President Donald Trump plans to ban Russia and China from extracting valuable minerals in Greenland, a move that would be part of a possible agreement with the island.
Modern.az referring to Western media, reports that the article states:
“Non-NATO member countries, especially Russia and China, should be prohibited from being granted the right to extract rare minerals located beneath Greenland's ice sheet.”
The publication notes that the mining ban should be an article of agreement in negotiations regarding the island's status.
Denmark, which refuses to transfer the island's lands into anyone's ownership, may oppose any proposed conditions.
