A prisoner exchange involving 157 military personnel has taken place between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia has returned 157 servicemen from Ukrainian captivity. In return, 157 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were handed over.
Modern.az reports that the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on this matter on February 5.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the UAE and the USA acted as intermediaries in the exchange. The parties reached an agreement to conduct the exchange during negotiations between Russian, Ukrainian, and US delegations in Abu Dhabi. The consultations took place on February 4 and 5, and the American side described them as productive. The first stage of negotiations took place on January 23 and 24.
