Trilateral agreements between Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan create opportunities for resolving transport problems in the South Caucasus.
Modern.az reports that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this during a meeting with Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan in Moscow.
"We see how complex the situation in the South Caucasus is. The foundation agreed upon in 2020-2022 at the level of the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, in our opinion, maintains its relevance for resolving all economic, transport, and logistics problems in the region," the Russian minister stated.
According to him, Armenia will significantly benefit from these decisions, and all obstacles hindering the normal functioning of the region must be removed.
Lavrov recalled that the deputy prime ministers of the three countries regularly communicate regarding decisions made based on the leaders' agreements.
It should be recalled that the last meeting of the trilateral working group on opening communications in the region, co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan - Mher Grigoryan, Alexey Overchuk, and Shahin Mustafayev - was held in Moscow in June 2023.
