In the ranking of the most reliable car brands for 2026, Japanese brands occupied 6 out of the top 7 places.
Modern.az reports that the ranking was determined by the prestigious “Consumer Reports” magazine.
“Toyota” led the ranking, followed by “Subaru” and “Lexus”.
These manufacturers are known for their conservative engineering philosophy, long model lifespans, and reliance on proven technologies.
According to experts, “Toyota” cars are designed to cover more than 300,000 kilometers with proper maintenance. This is achieved through strict quality control at all stages of production and simplified powertrains that reduce potential points of failure.
“Honda” and “Nissan” also showed good results, confirming Japan's leadership in durable and reliable automotive technology. “Honda” is in 4th place, while “Nissan” is in 6th.
European car manufacturers are concentrated in the middle of the ranking. Among them, BMW showed the best result, taking fifth place overall and surpassing several Japanese competitors.
Meanwhile, “Volkswagen”, “Audi”, “Mercedes-Benz”, and “Volvo” settled in the middle ranks.
“Tesla” demonstrated the most significant improvement compared to the previous study, advancing 8 positions to rank 9th. This progress is attributed to the high reliability scores of Model 3 and Model Y, benefiting from gradual design improvements over the years.
