In Moscow, an unknown person shot Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev of the Ministry of Defense several times in the back. He has been hospitalized.
Modern.az reports that, according to the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee, the shooter is being sought.
The assailant had ambushed the lieutenant general near a residential building on Volokolamskoye Highway. A criminal case has been opened under articles for attempted murder (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code) and illegal arms trafficking (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code).
Vladimir Alekseyev is the First Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. In 2017, Alekseyev was awarded the title Hero of Russia.
