US President Donald Trump has signed an order changing Washington's approach to arms sales to other countries.
Modern.az reports that, according to the new rules, priority in the acquisition of American weapons will be given to countries with high defense expenditures and strategic importance in their regions.
According to the agency, the document instructs federal agencies “to prioritize foreign military sales to partners who have made significant investments in their self-defense capabilities, hold important positions, or are located in key geographical regions.”
According to the information, this step aims to accelerate the supply of American weapons to allies, as well as to expand the US's own production capacities through foreign orders. (Reuters)
