Floods caused by heavy rains in northwestern Syria have resulted in human casualties.

According to **Modern.az**, three people, including a volunteer from a humanitarian organization and two children, lost their lives as a result of intense rainfall observed in the Latakia, Idlib, and Hama provinces.

The Syrian Red Crescent Society reported that a volunteer conducting rescue operations in rural areas of Latakia tragically died during the operation. Four other individuals sustained injuries of varying degrees during the incident.

According to the agency, floods in the Ayn-Issa region, located north of Latakia, caused the deaths of two children. Heavy rains severely damaged residential areas as well as refugee camps, and dozens of families were evacuated from their homes and tents for safety purposes.

Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing in the region. Meteorologists have stated that rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days and have advised the public to exercise caution.
