Human rights activist, Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in Iran.
Modern.az, citing foreign media, reports that she was deprived of liberty for six years on charges of assembly and conspiracy, 1.5 years on charges of propaganda, as well as two years with a ban on leaving the country.
The lawyer of the Iranian human rights defender, Mostafa Nili, noted that Mohammadi was also sentenced to two years of internal exile to the city of Hosef (near Tabriz).
Mohammadi was arrested during a protest in December and has been on a hunger strike since February 2.
