Technology giants “Alphabet”, “Amazon”, “Meta” and “Microsoft” are engaged in a serious investment race with the aim of dominating the emerging artificial intelligence market.
According to Modern.az, the companies' capital expenditures are breaking records.
Each company plans to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in data centers, chips, and computing infrastructure. The scale of the expenditures is compared to the telecommunications boom of the 1990s and even the construction of railways or interstate highways in the US.
The planned investment amounts of the companies we mentioned are as follows:
-“Amazon” - plans to invest up to 200 billion dollars,
- “Alphabet”- up to 185 billion dollars,
-“Meta”- up to 135 billion dollars,
-“Microsoft”- approximately 105 billion dollars.
It is noted that these investments are already causing shortages of electricity, equipment, and specialists, as well as investor concerns due to high costs and debt burden.
