Israel's General Security Service and police officers have detained a journalist suspected of being in contact with Iranian agents.
According to Modern.az, the suspect was arrested a few days after he contacted the police's cyber department regarding unknown individuals contacting him at the end of January.
It was reported that contact was established with the journalist via social networks, and he was asked to participate in protest actions in exchange for money, as well as to take photos of Jerusalem's central streets. He initially did not view these offers with suspicion, stating that he had received similar requests within the scope of his professional activities. Later, however, he contacted the cybersecurity department and reported the matter.
Although law enforcement agencies requested an extension of his detention, the appeals court did not grant this request. It was reported that the suspect has currently been released to house arrest. (Ynet)
