Ukrainian President Zelensky may announce plans to hold presidential elections and a referendum in Ukraine on May 24.
Modern.az, referring to the "Financial Times", reports that amid pressure from the US, Ukraine has begun preparations for presidential elections and the organization of a referendum on a peace agreement. It is reported that the referendum may cover agreements related to the territories demanded by Russia.
According to the newspaper, both votes must be held by May 15. Otherwise, there is a risk of losing the security guarantees offered by Washington.
However, martial law is in effect in Ukraine until May 4, and holding elections under this regime is not possible.
