The Armenian Parliament has approved an amendment to the law on military service.
Modern.az reports that, according to the amendment, individuals who have reached the age of 27 and have evaded military service until now have the opportunity to avoid criminal liability by paying a certain amount.
They will be offered 5 options:
- To serve for 2 years;
- To serve for 1 year and pay 2.5 million drams (6,200 dollars);
- To serve for 6 months and pay 5 million drams (12,400 dollars);
- To serve for 1 month and pay 10 million drams (24,800 dollars);
- Not to serve military service at all and pay 15 million drams (39,400 dollars).
