Alena Getmanchuk, head of Ukraine's diplomatic mission to NATO, listed the states that have provided the greatest assistance to her country in acquiring critically needed American weapons, including air defense.
Modern.az reports that, according to European Pravda, Getmanchuk spoke about this to journalists in Brussels on the eve of a meeting of NATO ministers, to which Ukraine was also invited.
The ambassador confirmed that the distribution of aid to Ukraine among NATO member countries is uneven, with several leading states bearing a disproportionate share of the costs.
"Norway is the leader in contributions to the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program. The second donor is the Netherlands, and the third is Germany. There are three more countries very close behind - Canada, Sweden, and Denmark," she stated.
According to Getmanchuk, these leading states are raising the issue of fair distribution of funds, which indicates a problem in the program's financing. Nevertheless, they are ready to continue supporting Ukraine.
"This initial group of 6 actually forms the basis of the PURL program's financing. Others have also made notable contributions.”
This week, new countries are also expected to join in the acquisition of American weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
NATO has completely re-evaluated its role in assisting Ukraine, and currently, 80% of the weapons in the Ukrainian Armed Forces come through the Alliance.
