A fight broke out in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
Modern.az reports that the reason for the fight was Akın Gürlek's swearing-in as Minister of Justice.
CHP deputies stated that the former prosecutor could not engage in politics.
In response, AK Party group deputy chairman Abdülhamit Gül emphasized that the swearing-in ceremony must take place. Following this, tension increased.
When Akın Gürlek moved, some AK Party deputies surrounded him. Subsequently, a fistfight broke out between CHP deputies and AK Party deputies. A mutual exchange of punches occurred between Mahmut Tanal from CHP and Osman Gökçek from AK Party.
During the incident, two Constitution booklets were thrown towards the rostrum.
