During his speech in parliament, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, addressing business representatives, announced that the railway route for export via Azerbaijan is open.
According to Modern az, he stated that Armenian businesses should take this fact into account and evaluate the new opportunities.
According to Pashinyan, guarantees exist at the highest level regarding this issue.
The Prime Minister recalled that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in his speech a day earlier, had announced that Azerbaijan had lifted restrictions on transit and cargo transportation, and that Azerbaijan had also begun exporting oil products to Armenia. The head of the Armenian government noted that these steps can effectively be considered the beginning of trade and cooperation between the two countries.
He added that Armenia will submit its observations on the draft agreement for the project called the “Trump route” to the US side in the coming days. According to him, the feasibility study process for the project is currently underway.
In his speech, Pashinyan also touched upon the issue of constructing a new nuclear power plant in Armenia. He stated that official Yerevan has not yet made a final decision on which model the plant will be built. It should be recalled that a few days ago in Yerevan, Pashinyan signed an agreement with US Vice President J.D. Vance for American-made modular reactors worth a total of 9 billion dollars (including fuel and service maintenance).
The head of the Armenian government emphasized that discussions with international partners are ongoing, and the final decision will be made in favor of the project that best suits the country's interests.
