Washington emphasizes the importance of continuing talks with Tehran to evaluate a possible agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program.
Modern.az reports that US President Donald Trump made a statement on the "Truth Social" platform after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
Trump stated: "I concluded my meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his representatives. We did not achieve any concrete results, but I insisted that talks with Iran should continue to ascertain if an agreement could be reached. I told the Prime Minister that if this could be achieved, it would be better."
It should be noted that the meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House lasted approximately three hours.
According to information, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as Ambassador Mike Huckabee participated in the meeting. The Israeli delegation included the country's Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter, Defense Minister Roman Hoffman, Acting National Security Advisor Gil Reich, the Prime Minister's new Chief of Staff Michael Eisenberg, and Political Advisor Ofir Falk.
According to Israeli media reports, the parties discussed the possibility of Washington failing to reach an agreement with Tehran. It is reported that in this scenario, the option of developing a joint action plan between the US and Israel was considered. According to “Channel 12” television, both sides view the prospect of reaching an agreement with Iran cautiously.
Western media writes that the US administration is also considering the option of strengthening its military presence in the Middle East. The Pentagon has issued instructions to prepare the "USS George H.W. Bush" aircraft carrier strike group for possible deployment. If a decision is made, this group could join the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier already in the region.
Observers believe that the parallel increase in military readiness amidst diplomatic talks is aimed at strengthening Washington's pressure mechanisms on the Iran issue. The development of tension in the region will depend on the steps taken by the parties in the upcoming phase.
