Omani authorities have conveyed several messages from the US to the Iranian side after the first phase of indirect talks.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
"We have not sent any letters to the Americans, but our friends in Oman have conveyed some messages from the US to us, and we will discuss them in Tehran," Larijani stated on state television after visiting Oman and Qatar.
He had previously stated that talks with the US were ongoing, but no concrete proposals had been made yet.
According to Larijani, the recent meeting in Oman was merely an exchange of messages, and the US's participation in the talks is an indication of progress towards a "rational path."
Larijani emphasized that the Islamic Republic's stance on the idea of negotiations is positive. He noted that the dialogue is ongoing and some countries in the region are making efforts for a resolution.
Larijani also announced that no discussions have been held regarding the complete cessation of uranium enrichment due to the country's energy needs. Talks with Washington are limited solely to the nuclear issue and do not touch upon other matters.
It should be recalled that the first round of Iran-US talks was held on February 6 in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The Iranian side was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and the US side by President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
