The position of Russian President Vladimir Putin that a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky can only take place in Moscow remains in force.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that if Volodymyr Zelensky is ready and willing for a constructive dialogue, he can come to Moscow.

V. Zelensky, however, refused to meet in Russia or Belarus for the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. He stated that he is only open to proposals for meetings in Western countries and "neutral countries".

Peskov emphasized that there was nothing new in Zelensky's statement.

According to Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Moscow is ready to receive Zelensky and guarantee his security while he is in Russia.

Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow expects the next stage of peace talks with Ukraine to take place soon.

"As we said, we expect the second stage to take place soon. More precisely, this will be the third stage; the next stage will take place soon," said the Russian leader's press secretary when asked whether the Kremlin was aware of the time and place of the next round of talks.

Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that Kyiv was considering sending a delegation to Moscow for settlement talks.
