Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the importance of protecting Israel's interests in a possible agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program.
Modern.az reports that Netanyahu spoke about this in a statement to journalists upon his return to Israel after his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington.
According to him, Trump wanted to learn his views on the Iran issue: “He wanted to hear my position. I expressed my general skeptical approach regarding the essence of any agreement with Iran.”
The Prime Minister noted that in a possible agreement, not only the nuclear program but also issues related to Iran's ballistic missiles and proxy forces are important for Israel and should be taken into account.
Netanyahu added that a peace plan concerning the Gaza Strip was also a topic of discussion at the meeting.
