Since the beginning of the year, the price of meat, including beef, has sharply increased in Armenia.
Modern.az reports that, according to January data, the price of beef has increased by 11.7-12.8% compared to the same period last year. Experts expect the price of meat to continue to rise not due to increased demand, but due to scarcity.
The beef shortage and the resulting price increase are mainly due to the decrease in the cattle herd in Armenia and the embargo on meat exports from Kazakhstan until June. Meanwhile, the meat shortage is not limited to Armenia alone.
