Heavy snow has fallen in Moscow.

Modern.az reports that the Moscow region began this morning with a snowstorm.

A southern cyclone, which originated over the Balkan Peninsula, has reached Moscow. Meteorologists predict that this snowfall will be the heaviest precipitation in February in terms of accumulation.

It has been noted that the snow depth will increase from half a meter to 80-90 cm.

Heavy snow has caused traffic jams in Moscow. “Yandex” announced that traffic congestion reached 9 points.

The Moscow Ring Road has come to a standstill. More than a hundred drivers were stuck in a 20-kilometer traffic jam on the M4 "Don" highway in the Moscow region. The snowstorm called "Valli" caused 12 accidents, one of which involved a patrol car.

Heavy snow has also affected tram routes. Trains from Strogino to Shchukinskaya went out of service, crossings were covered with snow, hindering the movement of trams.

Approximately 10 flights from St. Petersburg, Penza, Murmansk, and Yekaterinburg have been canceled at Sheremetyevo Airport. At Vnukovo, almost all flights are delayed by 30-90 minutes. In total, cancellations and delays have affected approximately 150 flights.

The roof of an ice skating rink near Bitsevsky Forest in the Central Chertanovo district has collapsed. No injuries were reported during the collapse.

The mayor's office announced that the capital's utility services continue to operate in an enhanced mode.(APA)
