The Israeli Air Force carried out precise strikes on two fighter jets preparing for takeoff at Tabriz airport in northwestern Iran.
Modern.az reports that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement regarding this.
It was stated that during the attack, Iranian military aircraft of "F-5" and "F-4" types were targeted while preparing for takeoff on the runway. In the official text it released, the Israeli army referred to these targets as "fighters belonging to the Iranian terror regime".
It was emphasized that the main objective of the operation was to restrict the activities of the Iranian Air Force and further expand the incapacitation of the country's air defense systems:
"The Israel Defense Forces continue to strike military infrastructure belonging to Iran's terror regime with the aim of weakening the regime and preventing threats against the State of Israel," the statement noted.
At the end of the statement, video footage depicting the moment the aforementioned "F-5" and "F-4" fighters were struck at Tabriz airport was also presented to the public.
